A Chat with Ata Karate for Kids
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? We offer an incredibly flexible schedule. We are family-owned, operated and oriented, with world-champion, certified instructors who are passionate about helping students achieve their goals and dreams.
What’s one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans? Your first time in the school you do not need a uniform; simply come to class in comfortable pants and a t-shirt. Each student is given an introductory lesson before joining a full class in order to prepare them for the class that they will be in and to introduce them to the instructors.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business? My wife and I were needing an outlet for our son who was struggling in school and with ADHD. Martial arts was recommended and we found the right school and instructor and we fell in love! We began training with our son and our passion grew. We have seen firsthand the success of martial arts!
What do you love most about your job? Working with the students! I love seeing students of all ages accomplish things they never thought they could! I love the look of accomplishment on their faces after they complete one of my workouts or pass a test for their next belt! I love watching how martial arts helps to shape their lives!

Adult-geared classes teach tae kwon do techniques, advanced self-defense moves, and weapons training. Instructors also open their doors for birthday parties, where the birthday kid dons a black belt and cuts the cake with a special samurai sword.
