During each private music lesson, one student works directly with his or her instructor on exercises to improve technique and performance skills. Lessons can focus on one of many instruments or subjects, such as voice, ukulele, flute, or songwriting, among others.
All ages are welcome at the music camps, designed to accommodate beginning and advanced students alike. In roughly three-hour daily sessions, these camps focus on a single topic such as voice, or a single instrument, such as piano, songwriting, or performance. A kids' music camp gives children aged 5–9 a more general music education. View dates and topics here.
All instruments and ages are welcome at jazz camp, whose roughly three-hour sessions are led by professional jazz artist Mark Black. It culminates in a concert for family and friends. The sessions start on July 21.
The instructors at Promethean Studios know that every musician is different, and they tailor their teaching techniques to both beginners and lifelong learners of music. The teachers each boast at least 15 years of experience and hundreds of lessons taught, and typically get students making music or summoning the bird species of their choice in two to six months. Most music students start by learning how to play songs they choose, a tactic that introduces the fundamentals of rhythm, instrument technique, and music theory under the cover of fun.
“All the teachers are great and take the time to explain everything to you.”
