Learning to use a firearm requires patience and a steady hand, much like feeding a squirrel an M&M. Hone your skills with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $65 for a Women on Target class ($130 value)
- $75 for permit-to-carry class ($150 value)
The three-hour Women on Target course is an outdoor class that introduces women to firearm safety. They have an opportunity to shoot a variety of firearms, and all equipment is provided.
The permit-to-carry course begins in the classroom, where a PowerPoint presentation covers firearm safety, basic shooting techniques, and proper storage. Afterward, pupils practice their shooting skills at a range. They must bring their own firearms, 50 rounds of ammunition, and eye and ear protection. Although .22-caliber handguns will be available to rent for $5, students need to bring appropriate ammunition. Completing the course is a necessary part of the permit process but does not grant the permit itself. Issued permits have reciprocity in more than 20 states. Wednesday classes last four to six hours, whereas weekend classes run six to eight. See the schedule for upcoming sessions.
Protection and Security Services
After his security team escaped unscathed from an attack during a refueling mission, AJ Reyer received an ARCOM medal with valor from the US Army. He served eight years, during which he flexed his teaching muscles by training 140 soldiers in convoy security. When AJ returned home in 2004, he became a law-enforcement officer, patrolling Minnesotan streets and eventually joining the department's SWAT team.
He channels these experiences into classes at Protection and Security Services. While his beginning students learn gun safety and shooting techniques, his advanced pupils participate in real-life SWAT training scenarios that incorporate room clearing, hands-on self-defense, and firing airsoft replica handguns while moving. AJ also teaches private classes on a limited basis.
