In self-defense classes you'll learn to protect yourself from strangers who want to attack you and friends who suddenly think you're the kind of friends who hug. Don't hug with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $55 for a safety and self-defense class for two (a $110 value)
- $49 for a three-hour in-home protection workshop for one (a $100 value)
The safety and self-defense class runs for up to two hours and teaches students practical alternatives to using a firearm or deadly force. In a positive, nonthreatening environment, students learn skills such as how to diffuse a violent situation and develop a personal safety plan. The in-home protection workshop teaches the skills that are essential for protecting your home against threats. Both classes are taught by an active-duty Detroit police officer and are appropriate for all levels of experience.
Protection First CCW
An active-duty officer with the Detroit Police Department, Jeff Banks helps students of all levels of marksmanship obtain a state Concealed Pistol License, also known as a CPL or CCW permit. With that aim, he teaches the Michigan CCW/CPL Training Class that, in addition to imparting the basics of operating a handgun, covers methods of non-violent conflict resolution.
