Since 1979, Providence Farm has been the site of a therapeutic program designed to benefit people with mental health and developmental challenges. Believing that caring for the land in a spirit of cooperation is a healing activity, volunteers and staff members offer programming in horticultural therapy, gardening, and landscaping; there are also hands-on classes in art, woodworking, and textiles. Visitors are encouraged to wander the grounds of the peaceful property, enjoying a coffee, taking a nature hike, and petting the resident donkey, Molly.
