• What is Microneedling with PRP?

  • Microneedling is a process of creating multiple small micropunctures in the skin, deeper than home dermarolling. This micro-trauma to the skin alone stimulates healing and new collagen production. It also allows better penetration of your own moisturizing creams. Microneedling with PRP application is a significant improvement on this foundational procedure.
  • Platelet growth factors, when released, promote tissue repair, angiogenesis (capillary formation), and collagen production.

• What to Expect with Treatment

  • We use the strongest topical anesthetic cream available to numb the surface of the skin for the procedure. Afterward, you’ll look and feel like you have a sunburn, perhaps accompanied by some mild bleeding and bruising. Your skin will be extra-sensitive, so protect it from anything that might cause irritation, especially during that 1st week after the procedure.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and be diligent about applying sunscreen.
  • Physical sunblocks that contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are less likely to irritate.
  • Go without makeup. Remember, your skin has tiny holes in it, so anything you apply could potentially penetrate below the surface.
  • Strip your skin-care routine down to the basics: a gentle cleanser and a simple, hydrating moisturizer. Don’t wash your face for at least six hours after your treatment to allow the PRP time to sink in.
  • Don’t work up a sweat.
  • Don't wear jewelry over the treated area during the healing period.
  • The entire recovery process shouldn’t take longer than a week, but your skin may remain sensitive for a little longer than that.
  • Your face will be dry and a little flaky for up to two weeks after the procedure. This is because the dead skin is broken up, and the tiny perforations will initially allow moisture to escape.

• Caveats: Everyone is different and healing, and the healing response varies from person to person. There can be peeling and light-to-rougher scaling as the outer, older layers of skin are eventually shed. There is also the risk of hyperpigmentation, especially with sun exposure in the early weeks of healing.

• No washing after PRP skin for at least 8-10 hours after. Allow the plasma to do its magic.

• No sunscreen or sunblock first 4 days, only hyaluronic serum; apply 4 to 6x a day. Keep the skin moist. (I had the issue with that one client who immediately applied sunblock the next day! Not part of my aftercare)

• No sweating, No jacuzzi, No pool, No sauna & No gym for 3 days after

• Recommend to use Collagen or soothing mask after face wash for 10-15 minutes.

• Wear a BIG hat daily or risk of hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone. (Texas heat can be brutal)

• Water wash only the first 3 to 4 days and hyaluronic serum application as advised
