Creativity can strike at any moment, whether you're near a canvas and brushes or beside a slumbering strongman and many rolls of toilet paper. Learn to recognize opportune moments with today's Groupon: for $37, you get a three-hour workshop at Pulitzer & Panetta Writing & Art Studio in Huntington (a $75 value).
Helmed by the tag-team duo of a New York Times best-selling author and former creative director of New York's Lincoln Center, Pulitzer & Panetta Writing & Art Studio molds artistic minds of any age with workshops that keep the right side of the brain firing on all synapses.
Papermaking gives the ultra-creative age 8 and older a day to hand-make the paper for their own idea notebook, then emboss it and inscribe their poignant Trix Rabbit fan fiction as the paper dries. Teens, meanwhile, can channel their pent-up snarky retorts into the writers and artists marathon, a maelstrom of painting, drawing, and writing from which no one leaves without a finished work. During the abstract sculpture workshop, adults exercise their inner Picassos as they transform plaster into surreal shapes and gloriously nonfunctional Dadaist ashtrays.
Whether the class covers playwriting, scrapbooking, or Faberge egg replicas, Pulitzer & Panetta Writing & Art Studio supplies all materials for each arty adventure. To ensure everyone gets one-on-one time with their instructor, each workshop hosts no more than 15 and no fewer than 5 black-bereted idea factories. Workshops are scheduled during mornings and afternoons on weekends throughout the year.
