So, who’s the guy behind Pure Life Acupuncture?
Well, that would be me – Dr. Dean Monitto, L.Ac, DACM – and my story is a bit of a wild ride! Before I decided to dive into the world of Acupuncture, I was busy with my first love: Science. Yep, I spent a few years teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Biology – which means I can definitely explain Acupuncture to you using some impressive terms like “qi” and “meridians,” or… I can just say it’s about getting your body back on track in a way that actually works!
But wait, there’s more – I didn’t stop at teaching high school Science. I also spent time as a professor of Acupuncture at two well-known Acupuncture colleges, helping to educate the next generation of healers. I guess you could say I went from teaching kids about atoms to teaching them how to balance the energy in a human body!
In my earlier days, I was a lifeguard (don’t worry, I can still save you if you need it – just no diving into needles, okay?). I also spent two decades as an EMT, which taught me a lot about people’s health, emergency care, and how important it is to get the right kind of help when you need it most. I still teach First Aid, CPR, and AED courses for the American Red Cross, so don’t be surprised if you catch me throwing in a fun safety tip during your treatment.
So, why acupuncture? Simple:
I’ve always been fascinated by how the body works – and how it can heal itself when given the right tools. When I discovered Acupuncture, I was blown away by its effectiveness. That’s why I transitioned from teaching Science to teaching people how to feel better naturally.
