What You'll Get
A miniature version often presents significant advantages—take the TV version of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, whose running time perfectly matches the average time between sour-gummy-worm cravings. Shrink your golf game down to size with today's Groupon. For $6, you get one day of unlimited mini-golf and billiards at The Haunted Mill and Purple Planet Mini-Golf (an up to $14 value). Both courses are housed at the same location in Belmont and are open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Built inside of an allegedly haunted former mill, The Haunted Mill mini-golf course immerses putt-putters in blacklit scenes of blood, banshees, and birdies. As your caddie (not included) helps you line up your shot on one of the course's nine carnage-ridden holes, your club will be susceptible to the claws and cleavers of monsters and madmen, each foaming at the fanged mouth to make you mulligan. On the links of The Haunted Mill, fear is every player's handicap, and tears are par for the course.
The kid-friendly Purple Planet course offers the same sort of atmospheric thrills as The Haunted Mill, but without all the chainsaw-wielding zombies "just playing through." Decked out in glow-in-the-dark paint and intergalactic imagery, the Purple Planet putt-putt course—also nine holes, blacklit, and indoor—transports players to a space system just eight parsecs beyond the Pebble Beach Asteroid Belt. Cosmic golfers can wear special 3D glasses to further bring the course's astro-ambience to life. As a bonus, 4D golf cleats allowing for interstellar time travel are not provided and also do not exist.
This Groupon is also good toward a coffin ride, where a guest is enclosed in a hydraulics-powered casket and shaken around like a morbid martini, all while a camera inside the coffin captures the customer's claustrophobic consternation. You can also enjoy unlimited games of billiards ($1 per game), ideal for guests wanting to prove that, when serial killers aren't lunging at them from scream-filled shadows, they can indeed place balls in holes.
Charlotte press has scary-good things to say about The Haunted Mill:
- …There is a lot more to do there than get the daylights scared out of you…With over 20,000 sq ft of entertainment this is the perfect place for small or large groups. – Rodney, Belmont Rocks
- Each year, for over ten years, the mill has restructured thirty scenes with new and updated haunts. There’s even The Purple Planet, an indoor, climate-controlled 3D mini golf course, game room, and a party room that's available to rent for any special occasion. – Tanesha Manigo, Examiner

About The Haunted Mill
An abundant number of recreational activities fill the space at Purple Planet 3-D Mini Golf. With black lights illuminating patches of neon paints, the indoor and always air-conditioned cooled mini-golf course bends the mind with challenging greens and mind-bending visuals such as aliens and floating satellites. As they navigate the course’s vortex tunnel and fog-filled corridors, golfers wear 3-D glasses, making obstacles appear to pop out and transforming every hole into an even deeper hole. Purple Planet visitors can also hone their billiards skills with games of pool or try their hand at the games at an on-site arcade.
