Archestratus, the first food critic, praised Italian cuisine’s use of “top-quality and seasonal” ingredients and its “fair-to-middling” ability to tranquilize out-of-control mayors. Similarly stun the senses with today’s Groupon to Q4 Ristorante’s West 4th Avenue location. Choose between the following options:

  • For $60, you get a three-course tasting-menu dinner for two (a $120 value), valid September–November or January 1–20.
  • For $60, you get a three-course tasting-menu dinner for two (a $120 value), valid during December.<p>

The three-course tasting menu includes:

  • One appetizer per diner:
    • Bresaola al limone (thinly sliced beef with lemon & arugula)
    • Parmigiana aubergine (eggplant layered with basil, tomato & two cheeses)
      • One entree per diner:
        • Veal saltimbocca (veal scalloppini with proscuitto and sage)
        • Pesce spada in salmoriglio (grilled swordfish with lemon, herbs & capers)
        • Risotto con carciofi (artichoke risotto)
          • One dessert per diner:
            • Panna cotta with Frangelico caramel

Q4 Ristorante continues to rack up [accolades](http://www.q4restaurant.com/awards) for Executive Chef Subraaz Abdullah's regional Italian dishes, also earning an Award of Excellence from _Wine Spectator_ for its well-crafted wine list. The Postcards From Italy three-course tasting menu treats tandem diners united by a love of food or a three-legged pair of pants to a choice of two appetizers in the form of bresaola al limone, a Lombardy dish of thinly sliced cured beef, or layers of eggplant parmigiana. Main courses such as milk-fed veal saltimbocca and creamy artichoke risotto slay hunger, while a grilled swordfish dish originating in Calabria sports a coat of lemon juice, oregano, and capers. During dessert, panna cotta holds hands with Frangelico caramel and candied hazelnuts; plates of mocha biscotti don Italian favourites such as amaretti cookies, panforte senese, and Dolce & Gabanna sunglasses. Though not included in today's deal, dining duos can peruse a [wine list](http://www.q4restaurant.com/ristorante/wine_menu) comprised of more than 400 labels with an emphasis on Italian varieties. As guests launch food into each other's mouths from fork-made catapults, wrought-iron chandeliers illuminate Q4's crimson walls, mahogany tables, and hand-painted floor.
