Before its current incarnation, the building that now houses Quartiere was called Riazzi's Italian Garden. It was known for its traditional Italian food, comfortable atmosphere, and the attention it paid to what its customers wanted—"a local red-sauce joint," as Erick Geryol, the owner of Quartiere, would put it.
To keep the spirit of Riazzi's alive, Geroyl started with the right name for his restaurant: Quartiere, which means "neighborhood" in Italian. He then decided on the style of food he would serve: Italian comfort food, such as pizza, pasta Bolognese, and short-rib ravioli in a Parmesan-cream sauce.
Last but not least, Geryol revamped the restaurant itself, modernizing the interior, where a convex skylight adds an enchanting element to the décor. He also put the outdoor patio to good use, equipping it with a fireplace, tables, and string lights to create a charming space for guests to dine.
