The Queen Mary

Since its maiden voyage in 1936, The Queen Mary has transported iconic figures from Winston Churchill to Fred Astaire across the ocean blue, and it even helped transport troops during World War II. Now at home in the Port of Long Beach, the venerable ship pairs art-deco trappings with stunning Pacific Ocean views. An onboard museum recounts the ship's glory days and currently features Passion for Painting: The Art of Winston Churchill Exhibition Aboard the Queen Mary. This exhibit displays art from Churchill himself, who was fond of landscapes and seascapes, drawing from the private collection of his grandson and the National Churchill Museum. You can also get a close look at never-before-seen artifacts relating to Churchill's famous "Iron Curtain" speech.

The onboard hotel recreates transoceanic luxury in her 346 staterooms (which include 9 full suites). Guests here often make multiple trips to onsite restaurants, such as the award-winning Sir Winston’s and Chelsea Chowder House & Bar, as well as appearances at the weekly Champagne Sunday Brunch served in the ship’s Grand Salon.
