What You'll Get
Sometimes our dreams are within reach, but more often, those dreams are on high shelves, beside the BB gun and the cupcakes "for tomorrow." Reach that shelf with today's Groupon: for $29, you get five yoga classes at quiet mind yoga (a $75 value).
Quiet mind yoga furnishes stressed-out soul sacks with tranquility-inducing classes designed for all levels, including a restorative class that teaches active relaxation in order to focus minds and bodies and induce restful sleep. The body-bending sessions draw from several yogic disciplines, including breath-centric Vinyasa, more vigorous Ashtanga, and alignment-encouraging Iyengar and Anusara. Classes are conveniently scheduled in the evenings and early mornings, so students can stop in on their way to or from the laser mines, and there are late-morning classes on weekends.
Inside the spacious studio, hardwood floors shine with impeccable housekeeping, radiating with the warmth of natural light from the windows. The expert instructors at quiet mind yoga guide students using gentle encouragement and correction to ensure that they perform each pose to the best of their ability. A partner of Live Green, quiet mind provides eco-friendly towels and water, and its commitment to its earthly and local community extends to a free weekly community class.

About Quiet Mind Yoga
Driven to share her passion for yoga with others, Quiet Mind Yoga’s director Rita Maximilian left her career in business development and education-policy reform to become a yoga instructor. She and her dedicated instructors guide students of all fitness levels through a variety of yoga classes—with a focus on the Iyengar and Ashtanga practices—at Columbia Heights’s first yoga studio. They help newcomers build a foundation for their practice during beginner sessions by walking pupils through standing and seated postures, and challenge more advanced students in intermediate-level Vinyasa classes that connect postures with athletic transitional movements, culminating in the secret yogi handshake. As a member of Live Green, Quiet Mind Yoga's studio provides environmentally friendly props, mats, and blankets to help students enhance their yoga practice while giving Mother Nature the day off.
