Q:

My daughter has a brand new Chevy Cruze. She was told that using anything other than a full synthetic would void her warranty. Is this true? If so, how much extra is the full synthetic oil change than the Groupon deal? Thanks so much!

Bill R.  asked on  Jul 24, 2012

A:

Please check her warranty directly for this information. Contact your preferred QuikStop Oilube for pricing on full synthetic oil.

A:

Many GM cars require oil that meets GM "DEXOS" specifications. While dealers may attempt to say that you must use a DEXOS "branded" product, the FTC has held that the specifications are what is necessary and that if a brand or other product not otherwise available, they must provide it for free. This is part of the "Magneson Moss Warranty Improvement act". Yes our featured full synthetic oils do meet the DEXOS requirements and are fully licensed as well. Your new car warranty is fully protected. Full synthetic with our featured full synthetic is $20 over our featured synthetic blend. Both are premium quality oils that I use in all of my vehicles.

Q:

I have an older car and use the Dura max- and I add lucas additive- any extra charge for that?

Kim M.  asked on  Jul 21, 2012

A:

Our featured Dura-Max brand is fine for all cars sold in North America and meets all warranty requirements. We do have a mature care/high mileage Dura-max branded oil. This mature care oil is an additional $15, but you can still save $21 by using the Groupon to buy the featured service with the high mileage oil.

Q:

What kind and brand of synthetic oil is used?

Tom W.  asked on  Jul 20, 2012

A:

We carry two main full synthetic oils, Mobil 1, and our featured bulk synthetic is Dura Max. Both meet the same stringent API service ratings. Our featured oil changes, regularly $38.99, include the Dura Max synthetic blend oils. These synthetic blend oils generally cost more at many other places, at QuikStop we include them at no extra charge. This is the Groupon deal service. You may use your Groupon on any of our super premium oil changes, at a slightly higher charge, but still save the same dollar amount.
