Hungry stomachs are forced to contemplate cooking their own food while our brains are busy plotting ways to make Hollywood starlets fall in love with our ungainly cousins. Quell an insurgent appetite with today's Groupon: for $7, you get $15 worth of American fare at Quinton's Bar & Deli. Buyers must choose one of the two Quinton's locations, which reside in Iowa City and Coralville.
Quinton's Bar & Deli proffers hungry visitors heaping plates of satisfying American pub grub and a wallet-friendly rotation of daily happy-hour specials. Let the menu fill your eyes with a delicious word-meal of soups, salads, sandwiches, and spuds, then, in a decadent twist, order some food and eat it. Start off with the creamy potato bacon soup ($5) before moving to one of the signature spuds—two grade-A Idaho potatoes smothered in toppings, including the Hey Cheeseball with cheddar and swiss cheeses, chili con queso, sour cream and bacon ($6.95); or the Tree-Hugger, a rooty pile of green peppers, tomatoes, red onions, black olives, chili con queso, and cheese ($6.95).
Proponents of handheld edibles can cast a vote for the sandwiches such as the Quinton's Cook's Deluxe, a fresh croissant that coddles constituents with delicious promises of marinated chicken, grilled ham, crispy bacon, swiss cheese, opulent treehouses, and peppercorn dressing ($7.45). Meanwhile, the juicy burgers feature fresh local meat and arrive with toppings such as bacon and avocado or grilled pineapple and barbecue sauce ($8.95). The portion generosity extends to the extensive bottled and draft beer selection, many of which sport 23-ounce pours.
Reviews are mixed on service, but most people like their sandwiches and burgers and think it's a good hangout place to grab a drink. TripAdvisors give Quinton's in Iowa City an average of 3.5 owl eyes, and Yelpers give it a three-star average.

Quinton's Bar & Deli
The cooks at Quinton's Bar & Deli know the ingredients that make a good Reuben—corned beef, sauerkraut, melted Swiss, and housemade dressing. But they also know the Reuben's extended family, which is why their menu has a section entirely devoted to the sandwich. The Rachel exchanges corned beef for turkey, whereas the Patsy switches in grilled navel pastrami. They can even combine two or three of the meats to create a Combo Reuben with twice the cheese.
Sandwiches in general happen to be the deli's bread and butter. Their most popular is the TAC, which stands for turkey, avocado, and cream cheese. Other options include the beef and brie, whose house-seasoned roast beef is covered with imported cheese, and the Aloha chicken, stacked with grilled pineapple and served in the pocket of a Hawaiian shirt. Burgers make an appearance as well, featuring hand-shaped patties from Bud's Meat in Riverside, Iowa.
And if you'd like some soup with your sandwich, Quinton's serves up the combo with a twist, ladling the soup inside bread bowls. A sizable selection of beers, wines, and spirits—including cocktails with homemade ginger beer—wash down bites.
