About Racine Salon and Spa
For more than 20 years, Racine Salon and Spa has been a destination for makeovers, anti-aging treatments, and even an Oscar-nominated documentary or two. The salon and spa's varied services range from haircuts and extensions to the signature Oceans Racine body wrap—it includes a sea-mud wrap that's made with hydrating French seaweed, a stop in the seven-head steam shower, and an application of toning body cream.
But beyond beautifying and relaxing clients, the staff at Racine Salon also does its best to serve the community. Since 2003, the salon has been home to the Mondays at Racine cancer care program, which provides complimentary services for cancer patients. So the salon was a natural fit when HBO sought to make a documentary spotlighting how cancer patients respond to hair loss. The resulting documentary, Mondays at Racine, went on to nab an Oscar nomination and numerous film-festival awards.
