Your Guide Josh Parafinik is an Excellent Guide. It's so much easier to participate in such experiences when you trust your guide. I felt safe the whole time, which gave me the courage to take the leap; The rush I felt from it was empowering. Thank you.

What You'll Get

Ziplines originally were invented for just two functions: sneaking hamburgers over the Berlin Wall and jazzing up presidential entrances to State of the Union addresses. Dangle diplomatically with today’s Groupon: for $89, you get the Escape Package (a $180 value) at Rappel AZ in Fountain Hills. The Escape Package lasts about three hours and includes the following activities:

  • A 400-foot zipline
  • A 40-foot Cholla rappel
  • A Leap of Faith from a 30-foot pole<p>

Groups of 10 or more can get a further twenty percent off all group corporate activities on the day of redemption.

Trained professional guides safely usher adventurists through each of Rappel AZ’s rappelling and ziplining activities. Groups of 4–25 people arrive at the outfit’s private Sonoran Desert location, where they greet their guide and take a short 10-minute hike to the adventure area. Upon arrival, everyone dons the provided safety gear, including harnesses for safe dangling and helmets for pumping up fellow rappellers with head butts. First up is the cable zipline, which patrons follow on a 400-foot glide through the valley at 40 feet off the ground, offering spectacular views of the desert. Next, the free-hanging Cholla rappel harnesses the power of gravity to help guests dismount from a 40-foot tower, an experience that is ideal for beginners and can be made more difficult by having the rest of the group sing, “For he’s a jolly good fellow” from below. Lastly, while specialized equipment guards over personal safety like a protective mother Care Bear the Leap of Faith invites participants to clamber up a 30-foot pole, daring patrons to balance on its top before jumping off in hopes of grabbing hold of a dangling trapeze bar. Each participant may take pictures as desired and needs no experience prior to taking part in the Escape Package. Reservations are subject to availability; interested individuals should call ahead for schedule times.
