What You'll Get
Rappelling originally was invented for just two functions: sneaking hamburgers over the Berlin Wall and jazzing up presidential entrances to State of the Union addresses. Dangle diplomatically with this Groupon.
$149 for a Sonoran Wonder Rappelling Package ($300 Value)
After guides outfit climbers with gear and basic rappelling knowledge, groups start off with a rappel instruction demonstration before tying on a safety rope and climbing an 80-foot granite slab. Then, they'll navigate across the Sonoran Traverse—a rock ledge—and drop 70 feet to the ground. From there, they'll be faced with a choice: repeat the slab climb or attempt the 100-foot chimney climb. Either way, they'll end up at the highline rappel, a pulley and tag line which slowly sails customers 250 feet across the canyon above panoramas of Phoenix and the desert beyond. Each package is valid for one person, and takes about four hours to complete.

About Rappel AZ
Trained professional guides oversee each of Rappel AZ's rappelling and ziplining sessions. Upon arriving at the outfit's private Sonoran Desert location, groups get into the adventuring spirit by embarking with guides on a brief hike to a playground of rock and rope. Among the attractions, a zipline glides 400 feet through the valley at 40 feet off the ground, offering spectacular views of the desert. A variety of other rappelling and climbing packages provide plenty of opportunities for elevation changes, whether it's rappelling 70 feet off a mountainside or attempting a 100-foot chimney climb faster than Santa Claus. As they enjoy the breathtaking views, guests stay safe in provided harnesses for safe dangling and helmets for pumping up other rappellers with head butts.
