When a golfer's clubs are too long, he must put up with extra-deep divots or risk bucking course dress codes by wearing high heels on the green. Chop clubs down to size with this Groupon.
$109 for a Two-Hour Custom Golf-Club Fitting and $112 Credit Toward Golf Club Purchase ($337 Value)
During each fitting, players take to the shop’s natural outdoor turf, swinging under normal course conditions under the watchful eye of certified club-fitting professional and 25-year fit veteran Al Murdock. Over two hours, Al ascertains a player's ideal club specifications based on 14 different variables, including grip size, lie angles, and loft. After the session, fitters work directly with manufacturers to ensure that clubs are made to proper specifications.
Players can also use their newfound fitting knowledge to purchase new clubs by Ping, Titleist, TaylorMade, and Nike. A custom fitted Ping G-20 sand wedge, gap wedge, or lob wedge costs $105, and a Ping Anser or V60 putter costs $100. The credit may be used on multiple clubs, but all club purchases must be made within seven days of the fitting.
Raven Golf Club
Recipient of a 4.5-star rating and distinction as having the best guest service in North America as judged by Golf Digest, Raven Golf Club immerses enthusiasts in an oasis of golf amid the rolling hills and desert just north of South Mountain State Park. Georgia pine trees line many of the fairways on the 18-hole course, forming an evergreen buffer between the emerald turf within bounds and the unforgiving desert sands beyond. Though the tree boughs may prevent mishits from getting swallowed by a rattlesnake that thinks the ball is an Easter egg, players must still negotiate with numerous fairway bunkers strewn about the Gary Panks and David Graham design. On the resort's signature hole, hole 5, players are often forced to lay up short of the six fairway bunkers, leaving a tricky iron shot into a slippery two-tiered green.
