A rarely produced but highly acclaimed work by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright William Inge (Picnic, Bus Stop, Come Back, Little Sheba), the Depression-era drama A Loss of Roses finds a devoted widow and her 21-year-old son scraping by in a small Kansas town when an out-of-work dancer and former family friend comes to stay with them, stirring up past traumas and present turmoil. The original 1959 Broadway production starred a young Warren Beatty, who scored a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor. This latest staging comes from Chicago's Raven Theatre.
