The studio also offers Bokwa, a high-energy fusion of South African war dancing, capoeira, and kickboxing, in which the teacher communicates steps to students via American Sign Language. Each class lasts about one hour, with 15-minute intervals between classes; classes are held 7 a.m.–noon and 4 p.m.–9 p.m.

Christina Lagrega's merry-go-round of advertising and public relations jobs wasn't cutting it; she wanted a job that would make her smile. When she discovered Zumba via a late-night infomercial, she found a class the very next day. She was instantly enamored with the fitness styles' high-energy atmosphere; it blended something she'd loved and lost from her childhood—dance—with community and exercise. She quickly achieved her teacher's certification, and decided to take her devotion to the Latin-inspired fitness regimen one step further in May of 2012 by opening reMIX fitness & wellness. Here, she helps whip people into shape with her infectious passion for dance, exercise, and leading a healthy lifestyle.
Now, joined by six other instructors, she expands her class offerings beyond Zumba into the realm of other signature programs, including Piloxing, yoga, and barre. Instructors also lead sessions of Bokwa, which draws from South African war dancing and capoeira to form a fusion of fitness and dance, much like bench-pressing a square dancer.
