More Questions and Answers

Q:

Are the bags air-tight like a Ziploc so the food does not get stale?

Eileen W.  asked on  May 21, 2013

A:

The bags are made out of tightly woven and water resistant fabrics. Air does not easily move in and out of our bags (as it would in cotton bags).

Q:

Should the bags be turned "inside out" when washing in the dishwasher? Will the anti microbial coating efficacy be reduced with heat exposure? Will the dishwashing rinse aid also leave the antimicrobial effect intact? How many times can a bag be washed? What kind of safety is there for the coating as it touches food directly?

Q:

Your description says they are mildew and mold resistant but Re-pac's website says they are not. What's up? Kare

Karen J.  asked on  May 17, 2013

A:

Sorry for the confusion. Re-Pac's website states that the bags are stain, mold, and mildew-resistant, but they are not stain, mold, and mildew-proof. Some substances (such as some berry juices, mustards, mold stains and inks) can leave a residual stain.
