What You'll Get
Floating on an inner tube is one of the best ways to navigate a river, second only to running at maximum speed and hoping to not trip on an inquisitive trout. Keep your head above water the easy way with today's Groupon to Reading Rivertribe. Choose from the following options:
- For $9, you get a scenic river tubing trip for one (a $20 value).
- For $18, you get a scenic river tubing trip for two (a $40 value).
- For $35, you get a scenic river tubing trip for four (an $80 value).
- For $59, you get a scenic river tubing trip for eight (a $160 value).
Reading Rivertribe sets eager explorers afloat on a scenic journey on the Schuylkill River past historic locks and canal remnants. Like proud mothers on the first day of school, Reading Rivertribe's shuttle service escorts tubers to the drop-off point at the confluence of the river and Tulpehocken Creek before kissing each aquatic expeditioner on the forehead and bidding a tearful goodbye. During the relaxing two-hour float, tube pilots will pass by remains of the old city-canal systems, under classic art-deco-style bridges, and alongside uncommon views of river-adjacent city blocks. Observant aquanauts may spot some of the local wildlife, including blue herons, geese, and blue-heron-shaped rocks. Customers exit the river at Jackson's Lock, near Canal Street Pub & Restaurant, where famished floatmasters can congregate for post-voyage dinner and drinks as they exchange exaggerated tales of survival, though that is not included in the Groupon value. Reading Rivertribe is open seven days a week until 5 p.m. by appointment.

About Reading Rivertribe
Framed by unfiltered wilderness and the occasional supports of a crossing bridge, the Schuylkill River is a secluded getaway for water lovers looking to float down nature’s slow-motion roller coaster. Reading Rivertribe shuttles aqueous adventurers to chosen points along the river for leisurely kayaking, canoeing, or tubing, with each trip ending where it started: in the stomach of a dreaming whale or next to a CPR-certified shuttle driver.
