Spring Fever Royal Oak Beer Fest
If you were to try just one beer per day from the Royal Oak Beer Fest, you’d be drinking a new beer everyday for nearly six months. Close to 60 different breweries will pack into the Farmers Market for the event on April 26, showcasing more than 150 beers in a festive setting. Many wines, ciders, and gluten-free options will be available as well, offering non-beer drinkers a pick-me-up other than the weird-smelling water in the village fountain.
Though some international breweries—such as St. Stefanus from Belgium—will be present, the festival highlights breweries from right here in Michigan, including Atwater Brewery from Detroit’s historic Rivertown District. Between sips, you can wander the grounds or try out at any number of games, including giant Jenga, cornhole, and Hammer-Schlagen, a classic German game in which players hammer nails into a cross-section of wood. A handful of vendors will also be on hand to dish out food, which’ll help keep the energy up as a live DJ spins music throughout the night.
