NY Personal Lines Licensing Requirements

Step 1: Complete 40 Hours of Pre-Licensing
Complete hours for your license: 40 hours Personal Lines Insurance.

Step 2: Pass the State Exam
Schedule via PSI. Score 70% or higher to pass. Be sure to apply for a license within 2 years of passing.

Step 3: Apply for Your NY Insurance License
Apply online through the NYS Department of Financial Services (NY LINX). Include your certificate and pay necessary fees.
