$29 for a California Twilight Holiday Cruise ($58 Value)
Departing from Pier 43 1/2 every Thursday–Saturday, at 5:30 p.m., from November 4 to March 31, the California Twilight Cruise drifts through the crackling, chilled air of the San Francisco Bay. Between sips of toasty beverages and bites of sandwiches, sides, and fresh fruits from the buffet, passengers marvel at the skyline’s twinkling silhouette and its holiday lights. Guests can absorb the panoramic view from the deck or from upholstered indoor seating behind large windows. A live guitarist sends calming melodies into the air as the vessel passes under the Golden Gate and San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridges, and past landmarks, such as Alcatraz, the San Francisco Ferry Building, and Coit Tower. All passengers receive one complimentary beer, wine, or soda, and can purchase additional drinks from the bar.
Red and White Fleet offers discounted rates for children.
Red and White Fleet
Red and White Fleet’s inaugural launch in 1892 came courtesy of founder Thomas Crowley, a 17-year-old seafarer whose vision has since spawned one of the Bay Area’s most sought-after guided sightsees. The placid shores of Fisherman’s Wharf host a bobbing quartet of wave-riding vessels, each crewed by a savvy staff of sailors versed in the Bay’s stunning maritime marvels, including rock seals, easily recognized by their Dee Snider wigs and Flying V guitars.
Other tours with Red and White Fleet include the Bridge 2 Bridge Cruise, which sails beneath the Golden Gate and San Francisco-Oakland Bay bridges, its iconic red-and-white boats dwarfed by the imposing structures. Passengers can venture onto the open-air deck to take in unobstructed views of the skyline, or gaze through large windows within indoor cabins furnished with plush seating and a full-service bar.
