$5 for Admission for One to Garden After Dark ($10 Value)
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Red Butte Garden transforms into a habitat for vampires, werewolves, and ghosts—monsters dedicated to the scariest thing of all: teaching about nature. During the Garden After Dark event, guests participate in activities such as pumpkin painting and face painting while learning the principles of horticulture through a spooky, Halloween-themed lens. Visit Dracula’s crypt to blend a special concoction of herbs that ward off the undead, discover the moon's impact on the natural world in the Werewolf's den, or decorate a lantern and release it on the haunted pond to put lurking spirits to rest. This deal is only valid for the events on Thursday, October 18, and Thursday, October 25.
Red Butte Garden
A living museum of rare and important flora, Red Butte Garden covers more than 100 acres of verdant natural and display gardens, walking paths, and hiking trails. Seasonal events—from sponsored camping nights and family picnics to celebrations of the winter solstice—often take place among the flowers as well as educational programs led by amateur and expert gardeners that focus on plants such as orchids, lilies, and bonsai trees. During the warmer months, the Garden's outdoor concert series features popular musical performers, their guitar strings buzzing like the bees that water the flowers with tiny buckets one by one.
