Tucked inside Red House Arts Center, Redhouse Cafe proudly displays a menu teeming with salads and sandwiches made from locally culled, organic ingredients. Dishes are named after famous Shakespeare characters, such as the Romeo salad ($6.75) rife with mozzarella, organic greens, tomatoes, basil pesto, and balsamic vinaigrette. Grilled chicken, provolone, bacon, tomato, and ranch dressing make up the Claudius hot panini ($6.50), which causes diners to hiccup in iambic pentameter. Wash down meals with beverages in the form of iced coffee ($2), a vanilla italian soda ($3), or a chocolate-banana smoothie ($4) while taking in live music during lunch hours and Saturday jazz brunch.

Red House Arts Center

Not many establishments offer the chance to see a Steven Sondheim musical, catch a concert, take a theater workshop, and eat an organic salad in one place. But at Red House Arts Center, all of these things flourish. Founded and renovated by a group of local artists, the center beckons visitors to fully immerse themselves in the arts, whether they’re watching an experimental-theater performance, strolling the halls of the second-floor art gallery, or pouring a bucket of house paint on themselves in the lobby.
