About Red Tracton's Steakhouse

A lot of steakhouses aspire to recapture that particular vibe of an old-school supper club. Red Tracton's doesn't have to try—because it actually is an old-school supper club. Ever since chefs grilled their first filet in 1948, Red Tracton's has served as one of the San Diego area's most classic, consistent restaurants.

The location. For more than 20 years, Red Tracton's has sat across the street from Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, where people can take in a race before capping off the day with some prime beef and a glass of wine.

The food. All of the beef at Red Tracton's is premium quality, including its famous prime rib. There are plenty of chops, too—veal, lamb, and double-bone french-cut pork—as well as generously sized seafood selections.

The ambiance. Guests can take their meal in one of three spaces: the dining room, outfitted with tufted leather booths and racetrack photos; the romantic Starlight Terrace patio; or the piano bar, where musicians entertain the crowd five nights a week.
