Q:

Will you offer private lessons for the second intermediate voucher to others as well? I am very excited about the metering 101 class, but am not really all that interested in studio work. I have taken a few other fundamentals courses and tend towards shooting landscapes and scenery when traveling. Or will a more focused towards outdoor work class be added in the future? Thanks!

Lisa G.  asked on  Oct 31, 2011

A:

Hi Lisa, I will offer private lessons in certain cases but I'm not officially including private lessons in the offer. I'm also working out some potential arrangements to bring in a landscape photographer for a couple of classes but we are still in the early stages. I would not expect to see a dedicated landscape class on our calendar until at least spring next year.

Q:

do you need to have your own camera? if i have a regular small digital camera will that do?

korin g.  asked on  Oct 30, 2011

A:

Each class is a little different. Some classes require cameras if you want to do any shooting of your own while many of the instructional classes will make use of our camera tethered to a large screen for demonstrations. We do not provide any cameras for students to use except during group demonstrations.

Q:

Can you take any two intro classes or are the ones listed in the description?

Jesus D.  asked on  Oct 29, 2011

A:

Hi Jesus, Yes, the vouchers are good for ANY of the classes listed on our website so long as it fits into the pricing category of Introduction or Intermediate. There are about 15 classes that are eligible for vouchers at this time.

Q:

I have been doing digital photography for around ten years, and in the past five or so have had many friends (including professional photographers) suggest that I start marketing my work. I generally focus on natural environments or architectural detail work, with a preference for outdoor settings and natural light. What I need help with is this: I finally just moved to my first DSLR, and I really need help with internal camera metering and figuring out which lenses I need for what I want to do. Can I get those two things out of this deal, and if so, with which classes? Are they covered by the intro classes, or are they more intermediate?

Jacqueline A.  asked on  Oct 29, 2011

A:

Hi Jacqueline, These are excellent questions. I think the Metering 101 class would be perfect for you as we go over all the different methods of metering with both hand-held and in-camera meters. Metering 101 is considered an intermediate class. As for your questions about lenses... I don't yet have a class for landscape photography but I would be happy to treat your second class voucher as a private lesson. I'm sure I can answer all of your questions and get you pointed in the right direction.

Catherine C.  asked on  Oct 29, 2011

Hi Catherine... the offer is for Two different classes that are each 1 session and may be taken on different days. We do not currently offer any two-session classes.
