Grub & Pub Miami

Grub & Pub Miami invites gastrophiles to explore their city’s edible treasure troves. Each outing visits five or six of a neighborhood’s restaurants and bars—each offering a complimentary beverage or gourmet bite. Read on for highlights from the upcoming events.

Coral Gables (July 26)

  • Cibo Wine Bar: Rustic brick arches and authentic Italian cuisine surround diners at Cibo Wine Bar, the Miami New Times’s Editor’s Choice for Best Wine Selection.
  • John Martin’s Irish Pub: A castle-like, slate-gray exterior hides a polished mahogany bar run by two chefs born and raised in the parish of Killinkere.
  • The Local Craft Food & Drink: This straightforwardly named gastropub was hailed as one of the Top 10 Beer Restaurants in America by Esquire in 2011.

Brickell (August 30)

  • Blu Martini: Low-lit oranges and purples wash through the Blu Martini lounge, which lives up to its name with the classic dirty martini, as well as a mango mojito and a lemon drop.
  • Dolores, But You Can Call Me Lolita: Built in 1923 out of a former fire station, Dolores, But You Can Call Me Lolita welcomes in guests with sunny yellows, gleaming chromes, and floral highlights.
  • Brother Jimmy’s: Corrugated aluminum and a neon sign reading “Swamp Water” sets the tone at Brother Jimmy’s, an old-fashioned Southern-style barbecue joint.

Wynwood (September 20)

  • The Butcher Shop: Although you might think you can guess the menu at The Butcher Shop, you probably wouldn’t include flan popsicles and german-apple strudel in your prediction.
  • Shots: Props, costumes, and shots guarantee time spent at this bar will be unforgettable, unless, of course, partiers have a little too much fun.
