Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of clear, removable, and custom aligners. The process begins at the dentist’s office, where, during an initial exam, the doctor snaps x-rays and takes impressions of the upper and lower teeth. In the Invisalign lab, technicians craft a set of up to 48 transparent aligners made to the patient’s exact specifications. Patients wear the removable aligners for 6–18 months, changing them every two weeks and only removing them while eating or brushing.
Throughout the treatment, patients return to the dentist's office for routine checkups to ensure teeth continue to shift into their proper places. Read the Invisalign FAQs here.

What is one of your signature services? How is it performed? Dr. Patalia’s signature service is Invisalign. He takes a mold of the patient’s teeth, which is used to create a digital tooth scan. The computerized model suggests stages between the current and desired teeth positions, and transparent aligners are created for each stage. Each aligner is worn for 20 hours a day for two weeks. These slowly move the teeth into the desirable position. The average treatment time is up to a year. Invisalign is effective for crowding of the front teeth and for patients who have experienced a relapse after fixed orthodontic treatment.
Do you or your staff have any special certifications or degrees? r. Mohit Patalia graduated with honors from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska with a bachelors degree in Biology. During his undergraduate studies, he worked as a dental assistant where he fell in love with the profession. He then continued to attend Creighton University School of Dentistry where he earned his dental degree. Following graduation, he was accepted into a one year General Practice Residency program at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Out of your entire repertoire, which is your favorite service to perform and why? “The best part about my job is bringing back confidence in my patients’ lives and boosting their self esteem with their new smile. I literally change their lives through Invisalign and that reminds me why I love my job so much." --Dr. Mohit Patalia
