Q:

Hello. I was wondering whether you're able to use the laser to remove hair in the bikini area? More specifically, I'm interested in hair removal Brazilian style. Can this be done with the laser, and do you offer this service? Would the area be considered medium or small? Finally, can you give me some idea as far as the level of pain from this procedure using a scale from 1 to 10 (with 10 considered the highest degree of pain on the scale). The answer to the question I’m sure varies to an extent depending on the person (that individual’s pain tolerance threshold), location of the body where the hair is being removed, and how sensitive the area is, but can you give me some idea of what one might expect based on your experience? Thank you in advance for your help.

A:

Thank you for your question. Yes; bikini would be considered a medium area and Brazilian bikini would be considered a large area. You are correct; it very much depends on the individual pain tolerance, area being treated, etc. We do offer the option of coming in early to apply a numbing cream to the area that will be treated to decrease the discomfort...In my opinion the pain level (without numbing cream is probably about a 3). Hopefully that helps!! Thanks again and have a great day!

Q:

Will 6 treatments be enough for complete hair-removal?

Tara E.  asked on  Sep 11, 2012

A:

Thanks for your question. Typically, six treatments are sufficient to complete "semi-permanent" hair removal...most patients will come back about once per year for a maintenance treatment.

Q:

For the upper back, would this be considered the medium area?

Brandie E.  asked on  Sep 10, 2012

A:

I would recommend coming in for a complimentary consultation prior to purchasing the groupon; that way one of our laser technicians can take a look at the area that you would like to have treated & determine which 'size' would be correct. Please feel free to call 913.681.6200 to set up the consult. Thanks so much!!

Q:

Does this work on light-colored hair, or just dark?

Josh D.  asked on  Sep 10, 2012

A:

The treatments work only on dark hair. We are happy to schedule you for a complimentary consultation prior to purchasing the groupon if you would like to have the laser technician take a look at the area you are interested in treating. Thanks!

Q:

Hi, What kind of laser is used? IPL or other? Thanks

William S.  asked on  Sep 10, 2012

A:

The laser is called a Deka Synchro FT. The laser technician uses the yag laser to perform the hair removal treatments and not the IPL. Thanks so much!
