The 45- to 60-minute group classes take place at Warren Park and focus on strength and conditioning and cardio. Classes are held Monday through Thursday mornings, 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Students should bring a water bottle and a resistance band; a yoga mat is optional.
Within the spacious, natural setting of Warren Park, Refuge Training provides visitors of all fitness levels with an opportunity to begin making good wellness changes. The trainers create an inviting, nonjudgmental environment intended to make people feel comfortable and welcome. Yelling and oversized barbells don't have a place in the group boot-camp workouts. Instead, attendees use resistance bands, body-weight exercises, and cardio drills to get a full-body workout as the trainer provides supportive, helpful guidance. For a more individualized approach, personal-training sessions can focus on an individual's specific needs and goals, establishing a regimen that goes beyond exercise and encourages people to begin living a healthier lifestyle in general.
