Flying is a lot like having a staring contest: even with utter concentration, you’ll never be better at it than birds. Go toe-to-beak with our winged companions with today's Groupon: for $130, you get a one-hour Intro to Flying lesson at Regal Air (a $249 value), located on Paine Field in Everett.
Certified by the FAA, Regal Air transforms landlubbers into high-flying aeronauts with a comprehensive flight school, a crew of licensed instructors, and a fleet of 12 on-site aircrafts. Fliers as young as 16, with the notarized consent of a parent or guardian, strap into the two-person Cessna 152 or slightly larger four-person Cessna 172 along with a friendly instructor to spend roughly an hour in the skies. Learn the basics of controlling an aircraft, such as how to execute successful take-offs, in-flight maneuvers, and which button catcalls passing birds. Taking off from Paine Field, future pilots also learn navigation skills, flight techniques, and proper radio communication skills. Students may bring up to 2 guests, with a weight limit of 400 lbs. for student and passengers combined. After the flight, newly anointed sky masters can choose to purchase a video of the experience for an additional cost; Regal Air recommends that students interested in the video option mention it at time of reservation (cameras are subject to availability.) No previous experience is required, but fliers should keep in mind that the plane is powered entirely by Top Gun references.

About Regal Air
Regal Air's instructors have trained aspiring pilots for more than 25 years. Located at Paine Field, the flight school's team adheres to FAA-approved syllabuses, helping students obtain certifications to fly single engine and multi-engine aircraft. Training ranges from supervised, hands-on instruction in the air to simulated instruction on the ground in a Garmin 430 DomeAir flight simulator.
Beyond the flight school, Regal Air's operations span a rental fleet of Cessna and Piper planes that let experienced pilots easily reach their castles in the sky. With a large fleet and their own, in-house maintenance team, they always have plenty of airworthy and well-maintained aircraft to fly.
