What You'll Get
Carl Palmer and his band play the Regent Theatre. A founding member of prog-rock stars Emerson, Lake & Palmer and '80s supergroup Asia, as well as cult favorites The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Atomic Rooster, the legendary drummer now tours the world with his own trio. They'll perform an instrumental concert of songs Palmer made famous with ELP, including "Tarkus," "Fanfare for the Common Man," "Hoedown" and more. Palmer's mastery of the drums, almost unsurpassed speed and on-stage charisma have earned him a place among rock 'n' roll's most acclaimed drummers, and he was one of the first members of the Modern Drummer Magazine Hall of Fame.
The rhythmic backbone of Progressive Rock’s first supergroup, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Carl has been hailed as one of the world’s greatest drummers, astounding rock fans worldwide with his dazzling speed and technical virtuosity.
In between the hugely successful reunion tours of his other supergroup, the original line-up of ASIA (currently at 5 annual world tours and counting!)…and the amazing one-time-only reunion of Emerson Lake & Palmer at London’s 2010 High Voltage Festival…Carl has been thrilling audiences world-wide with his utterly unique show (“ranging from jazzy improvisation, soaring stylized guitar leads, funk bass lines, classical melodies, and hard rock shredding” – Hollywood Today) – The Carl Palmer Band celebrates the music of Emerson Lake & Palmer.
With guitarist Paul Bielatowicz and bassist Simon Fitzpatrick, the Carl Palmer Band performs re-imagined instrumental versions of ELP’s original compositions and Classical arrangements, including “Trilogy” “Hoedown” “Pictures at an Exhibition” “Fanfare for the Common Man” “Tarkus” “The Barbarian” and “Carmina Burana”.
