About Relish Kitchen and Wine Bar
After a quarter century in the restaurant industry, Chef Stephen Hurd has found inspiration in cuisines from all over the world. This does not mean, however, that he ignores the food in his own backyard. In fact, he's committed to using local ingredients that show off the complex flavors of the Southwest United States. This marriage between global influences and local flavors results in a eclectic menu that features dishes such as mussels sautéed with chorizo sausage, and blackened mahi mahi sweetened with fresh pineapple salsa. Even classic American staples come with unexpected twists—pork chops are prepared "Mongolian style" with sweet cabbage and mustard sauce, and Maryland crab cakes are paired with mashed sweet potatoes and a vanilla-bean beurre blanc.
Though several dishes are decidedly upscale, Relish is hardly stuffy. There are more than a dozen sandwiches and wraps on the menu, which guests can enjoy while watching a game on one of the four flatscreen TVs. They can also pair their food with a drink from an exhaustive spirits selection that includes local wines, regional beers, and classic cocktails. Guests can also build their own concoctions at the mimosa and bloody mary bars, which complement the Sunday brunch menu.
