OK, we’re the first to admit it: today’s Groupon isn’t for everyone. But if it is for you (or someone you know), then this is the best deal we’ve ever offered, and you won’t want to pass it up.
If you’ve ever planned a wedding, corporate event, fundraising event, antique sword show, or type of large, catered event, you probably know that renting a beautiful space that can comfortably fit up to 600 people can cost anywhere from $8,000-$30,000. Renting a good space is what makes big events expensive.
If you were thinking of putting off your wedding or non-profit fundraiser for 3 years until the economy improves, today’s Groupon will make you think again: EnVent Chicago is offering an enormous discount on their beautiful 600-person event space at 344 N Ogden. Reserve any Sunday through Wednesday for just $800, or for an additional $1,000, hold your event on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. To put that in perspective, EnVent’s normal weekday price is $3,000, and weekends go for $5,000 to $8,000. So depending on the day you choose, you’ll be saving anywhere from $2,200 to $6,200. And even EnVent’s normal prices are very affordable compared to similar event spaces in Chicago, which cost anywhere from $3,000 to $20,000 more. One could say that Groupon is the kitana blade with which Envent is slashing through a pile of bricks, representing thousands of dollars. Today’s Groupon even includes the on-site services of a staff operations coordinator and security, if needed. You can use any licensed caterer you choose, unlike other spaces that require you to pay hundreds of dollars in fees if you use a caterer that’s not on their preferred list. Your Groupon will remain valid for 2 years, so if you’re planning several events, stock up on the savings. And you better believe that Groupon eats its own dog food - we’ll be buying a weekend spot for our “Taste of Groupon” party later this year.
While we’ll be featuring a new deal on Groupon tomorrow, you have until Monday to buy - it will remain open until 3/30 at midnight. To come back and join later just click here. So if you want to check out the space in person before putting money down, call EnVent at 877.368.3681 to set up a time to visit or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. You’ve got all weekend to drop by and make sure this space meets your needs.

Brides and non-profit organizations can’t wait 3 years for the recession to end to have their respective weddings and fundraisers. Brides: think of all the extra ice sculptures you’ll be able to afford with the savings you’ll snag on this Groupon. Non-Profits: think of all the money you’d pay to rent a hotel banquet hall for your annual dinner - at EnVent you’ll get about 5 times the space, a more unique experience, and you’ll save thousands to pour back into your services. You could even try to raise $800 on The Point (the site that powers Groupon), by Monday and buy the Groupon if you reach your fundraising goal.
The space can accommodate large gatherings of up to 600 guests, but also works for more intimate settings. If you’d rather hold a seated event - an antique sword auction, perhaps - EnVent seats up to 350. You know what else would go well in this space, actually, is Antique Road Show. Somebody tell them about this deal. I want to see some old swords getting evaluated before my eyes in a loft space with historic flare. Scratch that: I want to see some swords getting used by experts in a loft space with historic flare… and there’s no reason it can’t happen, because EnVent is a great space for film and production shoots. When Chow Young Fat films his next Crouching Tiger-style movie, he should shoot the flying sword fighting scene in Envent. The high ceilings provide ample flying room, and the pillars are great for blocking swords, provided they haven’t been smithed with titanium blessed by a child emperor. Somebody call up Chow - tell him “Mr. Young Fat, nobody’s going to see your movies during this recession anyway, so you might as well save a few grand in production with today’s Groupon.” Actually, I changed my mind; how I’d really like to see today’s Groupon redeemed is for a sword-themed wedding. There must be a Chicago couple out there who would love to do this, but is too embarrassed to admit it. Show yourselves proudly, sword lovers! Get your Groupon, and I will preside over your ceremony by waiving my sword about wildly and pronouncing you hitched before we hit the open bar and everyone admires EnVent’s historic flair. Why not? The Sci-Fi Channel held a party at Envent and they decorated the place with futuristic fiber optic tubular floral growths and translucent floating space chairs (see pic below).
Anyone can transform Envent to make their dream event a reality, so whether your dream event involves an indoor gauntlet of broadswords or a traditional wedding, Groupon will get you there for thousands less.
