What You'll Get
Like the Tin Man, bikes need to be properly lubed or they’ll break down on long journeys and be carried away by flying monkeys. Ward off bike-stealing simians with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get a bicycle tune-up at Reser Bicycle Outfitters in Newport, Kentucky (a $55 value).
Reser Bicycle Outfitters’ conveyance curators lube and adjust the moving parts of clients’ two-wheeled transports to facilitate smooth, safe rides. Travel in comfort from A to B or leave in a hurry upon discovery that B is overrun by bees thanks to a bicycle tune-up, a front-to-back cycle service suggested for routine maintenance. Mechanics adjust the derailleurs, hubs, headset, and bottom bracket to ensure proper operation, and they tweak the brakes so that, unlike reporters speaking into TV cameras, riders don't have to keep going when they see a red light. Wheels then roll into a truing stand to undergo a minor truing. Before the bike retakes the streets, cycle doctors check the tightness of all bolts and lube the chains. If the service turns up any parts in danger of failing, cyclists can find replacements among the shop's large stock of parts (not included in today’s Groupon).

About Reser Bicycle Outfitters
When Jason Reser isn't pouring his energy into advocating for cycling paths, he's sprinting between customers at his Newport shop, Reser Bicycle Outfitters, which was named one of America's best bike shops by the National Bicycle Dealer Association in 2013. At his store, which earned also a Second Best Bike Shop award in CityBeat, despite being located in far off Kentucky, he leads a team of spirited cyclists, proficient technicians, and SICI-certified fitting whizzes. Inside customers will find a plethora of road-, mountain-, city-, and kids' bikes, and the zenith of cycling, the omni-terrain Pugsley. The technicians service all makes and models in onsite repair shops, treating bicycles with everything from basic tune-ups to major overhauls to unproductive psychotherapy sessions. They also measure customers and frames at no more than 40 points to complete custom fittings.
In addition to sales and service, an onsite cycling studio offers coaching by Dr. Kathy Cunningham of Athlete Inside. After training or while you waiting on service, customers can enjoy a cup of Joe at the shop's full-service espresso bar, Trailhead Coffee.
