Despite Levante Bistro & Lounge's newness, both its atmosphere and its menu bespeak the tasteful simplicity of a well-seasoned establishment. Under the glow of pendant lights, a minimalist backdrop formed of granite countertops, olive and black walls, and dark-stained wooden floors focuses attention on the main attractions: the ambience and, most importantly, the food. Opening acts, such as the beef carpaccio with Asiago, apple-jicima slaw, and arugula, prime palates for the complex flavours that characterize Levante's main dishes. Chefs breathe new life into European classics with headliners such as the grilled rack of lamb paired with a jalapeno-mint gremolata or the stuffed chicken breast with fresh mozzarella, grape tomatoes, spinach, seasonal vegetables, and roasted fingerling potatoes. Chocolate-chip cookies slathered in vanilla ice cream as well as house-made creme brulee and milk-chocolate lava cake serve as decadent meal conclusions.
