A black-tie-clad David Beckham has strolled across its glistening floors. So too has the characteristically casual Woody Allen. And, from a perch on the gilded mezzanine, rapper K’naan once helped transform the typically poised dining cathedral into a boozy after-hours party. Though perhaps not best known for VIP sightings, Rosewater boasts a culturally eclectic menu to match its range of clientele, which includes locals and visiting celebrities. Today’s Reserve selection invites you and a guest to relish Rosewater’s global creations with a five-course dinner that includes:

 • Two amuse-bouches
 • Two appetizers
 • Two intermezzos
 • Two entrees
 • Two desserts

Though drawn from Rosewater’s à la carte menu, appetizers, entrees, and desserts will be selected at the chef’s discretion on a rotating basis.

The culinary craftsmen at Rosewater draw from various epicurean muses to forge a menu of modern classics, comfort food, and international flavors. After traipsing across marble floors, couples take their seats and settle in with two delicate amuse-bouches, bite-size tinglers that serve as the chef’s prologue to the ensuing meal. The ample rays of hourglass sconces and massive arched windows help eyes scan appetizers, with possibilities ranging from tiger prawns in a caramelized orange-ginger sauce to vine-ripened tomatoes plated alongside buffalo mozzarella and sweet peppers. A palate-cleansing intermezzo gives way to entrees that trace the globe, from the Tuscan flavors of chicken tagliatelle to the eastern accents of black grouper served with wasabi cream and a shrimp Dynamite roll. Meals come to a decadent conclusion with desserts such as red-wine-poached pear filled with white-chocolate chantilly cream and Belgium chocolate molten cake topped with burnt-sugar ice cream.

Though this Reserve selection does not include alcohol, Rosewater pairs its gastronomic offerings with house cocktails, imported drafts, and vintages hailing from Italy, New Zealand, and various French provinces. Whether seated amid the stately columns of the lofted mezzanine or in the open floor of the high-ceilinged dining room, couples can enjoy a sleek, modern adaptation of classic decor without dressing Michelangelo’s David in an Ed Hardy T-shirt.
