What You'll Get
Like suntans and long-distance relationships, golf skills disappear if you don't keep working at them. Keep the magic alive with today's deal: for $47, you get a round of golf, cart rental, a bucket of range balls, and daily valet parking (a $98 total value) at Resort at Squaw Creek, which is near Lake Tahoe. This Groupon can be redeemed through October 9, 2010 (not valid September 3–6). It is good for any tee time Monday through Thursday, but only for tee times after noon on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Resort at Squaw Creek is a par 71, links-style championship golf course. Each of the first nine holes climbs along the mountainside surrounding Squaw Valley, through trees and narrow fairways. Golf carts traverse wooden cart paths through the natural wetlands, which are home to natural wildlife and habitat to the second nine holes. The signature sixth hole has an over-the-water approach with views of Squaw Valley's surrounding peaks and the abominable snowmen posed like The Thinker perched atop them. With four sets of tees, and family tees placed 150 yards from the green, the course provides a suitable challenge for golfers of all levels. For club-less golfers, the Pro Shop provides club rental, but all shirts must provide their own collars. Before or after golfing, head to the range with the included bucket of dimpled orbs for some carefree ball blasting (normally $3).
The course was designed with the intent of preserving the natural wetlands and wildlife habitat of the area. Crafted by master course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Resort at Squaw Creek is recognized as a Certified Cooperative Sanctuary by Audubon International, maintaining its colorfast greens without pesticides and with only a minimal amount of organic-based fertilizer. Synchronize watches with your golfing posse, then book your tee time online.

About The Links at Squaw Creek
Renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed the Links at Squaw Creek in a manner that both preserves and showcases the area's natural beauty. Sitting at the base of Squaw Valley near Lake Tahoe, the 18-hole championship facility is truly a tale of two halves. On the front nine, golfers work up the mountainside, and on the back nine, they navigate the tall grass, marches, and wooden cart paths of the wetlands. Narrow fairways are a theme throughout the course, however, meaning players must focus on accurate shots or finding a way to attach a laser scope to their driver. Scores aside, the course rewards visitors of all levels with stunning views of the Sierra Peaks, plus a plethora of activities nearby thanks to the Resort at Squaw Creek.
