It wasn't until his teens that Puerto Rican native Rey Monroig seriously began playing the drums like his father, an accomplished percussionist. Music is still an essential part of his artistic life, but these days he splits his time behind the kit and behind the lens at Rey Monroig Photography. The same free-spirited yet controlled style that distinguishes Rey's drumming is evident in his photography, whether he's shooting families, expectant moms, or models. To bridge the gap between his two artistic specialties, Rey also photographs promotional stills, album covers, and live performances for fellow musicians.
