$65 for Entry to RhinO-Course on Saturday, April 28 (Up to $150 Value)
Runners gather at Bootleg Canyon Basin to test their mettle against the 2012 RhinO-Course: 4 miles of up to 100 natural and manmade obstacles. The military-inspired course demands that racers crawl through tunnel mazes, navigate log-jungles, and clamber up ropes to avoid mud and water pits. Should participants fail to surmount an obstacle, they must complete five penalty burpies or atone with prolonged screaming at the sky. Self-designated “elite racers” may tackle extreme versions of the obstacles, and kids can cavort around seven miniature obstacles at the free RhinO-Kids Course.
The course remains open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with staggered start times. Challengers who cross the finish line receive a RhinO-Course T-shirt, a challenge coin, and a free 14-ounce Michelob Ultra beer. Though the hurdles strike many as intimidating, the RhinO-Course staff encourages guests of all abilities to try to conquer the canyon—click here for prerace training tips, and here for course FAQs.

About Boot Camp Las Vegas
Julie Johnston founded Boot Camp Las Vegas in 2005, when—after unsuccessfully trying to lose 60 pounds through a battery of exercise techniques—she considered enlisting in the military solely for the physical challenge and camaraderie. Upon reconsideration, she decided to reclaim some turf from the lazy birds in nearby parks and stage her own workouts to build the physical and mental toughness she knew she was capable of developing. Today, a team of instructors—all certified personal trainers who have completed 64 days of boot-camp training—preaches Johnston's program to exercisers of all fitness levels. To help monitor and maximize workouts, they stage weigh-ins, take measurements, perform physical-fitness tests, and dish out a nutrition packet to shed light on healthy eating.
