About Richard Fiske's Martini Bar & Restaurant
Just a block away from the bustle of Bourbon Street sits Richard Fiske's Martini Bar & Restaurant. Taking its name from the iconic restauranteur who fed New Orleans crowds for decades, the eatery is filled with local flavor and character, from its meals to its music.
Meals
Louisiana-caught seafood fills the menu, which includes dishes such as Cajun-spiced scallops with crabmeat-stuffed beignets. The restaurant's creole cooking showcases its New Orleans roots, but there are also decidedly international, contemporary offerings, such as coffee- and coriander-rubbed racks of lamb and fried calamari tossed with sweet-chili sauce.
Martinis
"The drink menu at Richard Fiske's might as well be a leather-bound volume, with an encyclopedic list of antiquated and oft-forgotten drinks," Sarah Baird wrote in Gambit. In addition to a host of historic libations, diners can order classic gin or vodka martinis or choose from dessert martinis in flavors such as cinnamon toast and banana-cream pie.
Music
The spirit of New Orleans is also on display in the dining room during the restaurant's live music performances. Each night the sounds of soulful singers, jazz pianists, or full bands fill the space. However, the restaurant never charges cover, allowing diners to enjoy the shows while sipping one of the bar's signature martinis or specialty cocktails.
