After earning a master of arts in music therapy from NYU, Joseph Piccinnini founded the Richmond Music Center to impart rhythm wisdom to kids and adults looking for a new creative outlet. The school's music masters are degree-holders and working professional musicians who pluck pupils' brains like a pizzicato string part. Annual Carnegie Hall recitals reward dedicated students with a chance to show off their be-bop chops. Experienced ax-grinders can sharpen their existing fretboard-frying skills, and beginners can dip their tongues in the water with a woodwind introduction or learn almost any other instrument that their hearts desire (you can discuss specifics when calling to set up your appointment). Lesson times are flexible, with the center doing its best to accommodate students' schedules. Instruments are provided during the lesson if desired, but they cannot be taken home for practice.
