About Riggs Beer
Riggs Beer Company is a family-owned brewery and taproom in Urbana, IL. After graduating from the U of I, brothers Matt and Darin Riggs completed their formal brewmaster educations and gained valuable brewing industry experience in California and Germany. In 2015, they decided to move back home near their 5th generation family farm in Champaign County to open a brewery together with their wives Caroline and Gail. In the Summer of 2016, the brewery, taproom and beer garden opened its doors to the public. Riggs Beer Company brews German and American beer styles and integrates over one thousand pounds of Riggs grown grain into their beers each month. The tap room and beer garden greet customers with a family friendly atmosphere and are available for private events. In 2017 the brewery went electric neutral with a huge solar array.
