- $11 for two Groupons, each good for $10 worth of food ($20 value)
Ken Riley was just 21 years old when he founded Riley's Restaurant in 1981. The family-friendly concept fit nicely in the Greenhills neighborhood, and took off accordingly: it expanded several times throughout the '80s and '90s, even adding a bakery in 1995.
That same year, Ken and his wife, Gloria, also picked up a penchant for collecting antique cookie jars. Today, pieces from their 300+ jar collection can be seen around the dining room, lending a homey feel to match the hearty comfort food being served there. Breakfast is served all day and includes platters of piping-hot hot cakes, custom omelets, and sides like creamy cheddar grits. Lunch and dinner, meanwhile, seek to suit all tastes with a varied line-up that includes everything from burgers, meatloaf, reuben sandwiches, to an edamame salad served in a jar. And, of course, there are the baked goods churned out by the on-site bakery, including a selection of homemade pies, and a wide selection of craft beers and wine.
