The idea of fusion has long held sway over our imaginations, resulting in such mythical creations as the centaur, the minotaur, and the fearsome duckbilled platyperson. Experience a gustatory amalgamation with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of Mediterranean fusion fare at Ritual on Main Street.

Ritual’s innovative menu fuses classic American cuisine with the fragrant flavors of the Mediterranean in the warm, scarlet glow of a cozy bistro. Commence eclectic fare forays with a chocolate-bacon appetizer adorned with almonds and pistachios ($5.95), or drown sea-faring hunger pangs in the Poseidon Chowder, chock-full of lobster, scallops, shrimp, salmon, and swordfish ($7.95). The sliced-beef tenderloin tantalizes carnivorous mouth caverns ($18.95), and the stuffed salmon filet sets black-bear gourmands to salivating with crab, red pepper, and asparagus in a lemon-caper sauce ($22.95). Ritual also doles out a deluge of gourmet dough disks, such as the greek pizza, overrun by hordes of olives, figs, almonds, feta, and English tourists ($9.95).

Ritual

A warm orange and red light illuminates Ritual, tinting its brick-accented walls and exotic statues an inviting ruby. Flickering candles and the glow of flat-screen televisions add to the romantic, yet contemporary atmosphere, where the trendy decor is rivaled only by an eye-catching menu of American-fusion cuisine. Globetrotting meals commence with small plates of chocolate-dipped applewood bacon or waygu beef, which diners sear over a hot rock or the grill they keep in their wallets. Chicken marsala and bacon-wrapped filet mignon represent a portion of the more traditional entrees, but dishes stretch as far as the bounds of the chef's imagination, including an award-winning seared duck breast double-coated with crushed cocoa beans and a hazelnut-chocolate demi-glace.
