What You'll Get
Getting out of the house is often hampered by the fact that most houses are located inside a bigger and fancier house. Step outside of the house outside of your house with today's Groupon to RiverGirl Fishing Company in Todd. Choose between the following options:
- For $10, you get a three- to four-hour river tubing float (a $20 value).
- For $35, you get a three-hour fly-fishing lesson (a $75 value). Groupon holders participating in the fly-fishing lesson must purchase a fishing license ($5–$20) at RiverGirl Fishing Company.
RiverGirl Fishing Company transforms the south fork of the New River into an aquatic playground with tube rentals, fishing lessons, and more. Tube rentals let aquasplorers travel the river's gentle current, and during three- to four-hour floats, tubers can lean against backrests and think back to a simpler time when man commuted via inner tube. Fly-fishing lessons acquaint anglers with rod, line, fly, and fish during two hours of personalized instruction followed by one hour of on-water practice. Lessons are taught by a trained fisheries biologist with more than 20 years of fly-fishing experience, which enables her to communicate telepathically with trout and verbally with ducks. Students will be swaddled in all the necessary equipment (except for a fishing license) and taught casting, knot tying, and stream reading.
Headquartered inside a historic train depot close to the New River, RiverGirl Fishing seeks to instill a love of nature by providing outdoor aquatic adventures enhanced by first-mate lessons taught by its pet pig, Petunia.
